The founder of NASCAR was Bill France who was a part of NSCRA, which is the abbreviation of National Stock Car Racing Association, met with 35 different leaders of all racing associations on December 14, 1947. They decided on the importance of starting out with the American national automobile sport. The leaders sat for about four days and sorted out all the rules and named the sport NASCAR, which means National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. The association was finally created on February 21, 1948. This all started with the need for developing new cars after the Second World War. The industries, which were producing the weapons, then started producing the cars and new designs were being made.

Among the first of the races, the cars used were the modification of the cars before the war period and then there was introduction of modification fit for races. The championship consisted of about 52 races and the first winner of the race was Red Byron. In that race, Red Byron won a prize of about $1250. Then there was another trend being put forward by Bill France that the cars would not undergo any modifications, which just raised a lot of questions among the car race community. Then after that Glenn Dunnaway won the race with his car, Ford, which was stated illegal because it was found that he had made some modifications to his car.

As time went by, NASCAR racing got high recognition and the cars underwent a lot of modifications. NASCAR racing is now one of the most admired sport, not only in the United States but also a lot of other countries. There are many countries that have acknowledged car racing now and have started car racing as an official sport with a lot of people participating in it. NASCAR racing has really brought a lot of awareness among people about the car brandings and has turned out to be a billion dollar industry.
